Candy Heart

I  hope everyone has had an amazing weekend! It went so quickly for me, but it was so nice and relaxing. On Friday, Tarryl M and I had our weekly girls' wine night and last night Ollie and I finally watched Girl with the Dragon Tattoo -- which was really good! I think this one was almost as good as the book, which never happens.

We went for a walk in Kits yesterday and discovered a new clothing store that just opened on Friday, and holy crap is it a good one! I almost don't want to tell anyone about it, but that would just be selfish! It is called XO Bella and you can find it online here soon. The skirt and shirt that I am wearing are from this store and I think they are just the cutest things. It's actually a little dangerous that it's so near my house...

Thanks so much for everyone's support and lovely comments! My little blog is really growing and it's thanks to all of you :) Don't forget to follow me on BloglovinTwitter, Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram (@stylingmylife)!!!

Shorts and Blazer

I hope you've had a wonderful Thursday! I was inside my cubicle at work, thinking that it was cold and raining outside -- and then when I left the building after work, I was pleasantly surprised by a glorious evening! I love that! Even the weather channel was predicting rain all day. I think Mother Nature knew we'd had enough rain in Vancouver and thought she'd give us a little treat :)

We thought we would go down to the water to take a couple of photos as the sun was setting. We haven't been down there in a few weeks and it has definitely gotten busier. I love Kits beach in the summer. There is always so much life and activity. Such a huge contrast to the winter.

In these photos, I'm wearing an outfit that I would typically wear when it gets a little warmer out. I love to wear shorts as much as I can possibly get away with, so wearing them with a blazer gives the look a touch of class. And, of course, the heels to make my legs look longer and slimmer (it's scary to break out the shorts for the first time!). Hopefully, I'll actually get some colour on my legs soon so that I don't blind you with them :)

White Blouse

I hope you're having a great Wednesday! Ollie and I have been catching up on all of the Game of Thrones episodes that we had missed. Now we're all up to date and have to wait until Sunday for the next one, which feels like forever away.

It's been raining non-stop in Vancouver, so we haven't been able to get out to take any pictures. We were lucky today and got about 5 minutes in where the rain stopped, and we ran outside to get a couple of shots. It started raining again while we were outside, so we had to cut it short. I think you might notice rain drops on my shirt in a couple of photos, but I'm happy that we got some in!

This outfit is something that I would wear to work when I just want to be comfortable. It just feels so great to wear leggings to work. And these ones are made of a nice material that isn't like regular jersey leggings, so I feel like they're a little more work-appropriate -- at least I like to think so :)

Lace Dress

I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far! I've woken up with a bit of a headache, but other than that, it is perfect! We went out for dinner to Maenam last night and it was soooo delicious! The wine was great too (hence the headache).

I felt like dressing up and since it was such a beautiful evening, I was able to wear a dress with no tights and actually be comfortable! This is the first time I've been able to have bare legs this year and I love it! Must mean we're actually getting our spring weather now :)

We are trying to get as many photos of the spring flowers as we can. We're lucky in Kitsilano because every street is lined with blossoms like these ones. We took these pictures on our way to the restaurant and had so many beautiful places to shoot. I love Kits in the spring!

Nautical Stripes

I finally have more pictures to post! I feel so relieved :) My poor poor boyfriend has been pulling all-nighters for the last 2 weeks, so I can hardly blame him -- the poor guy is worked to the bone. Luckily, on his first day of freedom, he was willing to do anything other than die of sleep deprivation and decided to go and take some photos. The best guy ever!

Thanks so much for checking in after my absence. I promise I'll never do it again! Since I've had some free time, I've signed up for a facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/stylingmylifealison a twitter account at @StylingMyLifeAH, and an instagram account @stylingmylife. I also have a pinterest account at http://pinterest.com/stylingmylife/. I would love for you to follow me!

This outfit is one of those go-to looks that just feels so comfortable every time I put it on. If I'm feeling a little less-than-attractive, I can put this on and be so incredibly comfortable that I no longer care. It's funny too because you'd expect stripes to make you feel even worse, but nope -- fantastic! I bought this shirt from H&M about 2 months ago and think I have probably worn it about 500 times. (sorry friends that are sick of seeing it).

I hope you have a good evening and thanks for all your support! xoxox

Floral Skirt

I hope you're having a wonderful week so far! The weather is finally warming up and I am able to go outside without tights on! This is especially welcome after our weekend in Whistler where it was gorgeous, but definitely freezing.

I bought this skirt a couple of months ago, but was never able to wear it because it just didn't look quite right with tights. I love when I finally get to wear something that I have waited so long for! I really love the style of this skirt. The high-low hem is so flattering to the legs -- I might have to get a couple more in this style :)

Florals and Stripes

On our way home from Whistler, we decided to stop at couple of the lookout points and take some pictures. It's funny because we both said that we have always wanted to stop at these spots but have never actually done it -- and we've both driven this road a million times. I'm glad that we could use the excuse of this blog to finally stop and enjoy the view. And it was gorgeous!

For my Easter outfit, I decided to wear my new floral blazer from Aritzia. I thought it was suiting for this day and I love how surprisingly easy it is to wear! I only had 2 scarfs to choose from on this trip, so I went with the stripes and really like the result. I'm wearing my comfy motorcycle boots for driving and climbing on rocks and my favorite jeans and plain white shirt. Makes for the perfect outfit for wandering around Whistler and the car ride home :)

I hope you all had a great long weekend! It's tough to be back at work after so much relaxing, but maybe tomorrow will feel a bit more like normal. Thanks so much for all of your lovely comments and support -- I really appreciate it so much!

Whistler

Happy Easter Everyone!!! While everyone is thinking about spring and warm weather, Ollie and I have decided to take a trip to Whistler and get one last taste of winter before all of the snow melts and Ollie can no longer go snowboarding.

It has been a gorgeous weekend up here -- sunny the whole time, but it is still freezing cold and there is still snow everywhere. These pictures are all very winter themed, but it is such gorgeous scenery that I had to post them.

These photos were taken on our first day here -- Good Friday. It was such a great day with shopping and wandering around the village for me and snowboarding for Ollie. Then, we went for a walk on one of the snowy trails and took some photos. At night, we went for dinner at Sushi Village and then drinks at Brandi's at the Keg. Such a great day :)

Sheer Burgundy

Hello everyone! I hope you're having a fantastic start to your long weekend! Ollie and I are up in Whistler and it is absolutely gorgeous today. I've been trying to take some pictures but I think I'll have to wait for my talented boyfriend before I get anything decent. I've been walking around the village all morning and bought a couple of things and am now having a cup of green tea in Starbucks while I wait for Ollie to finish his day on the mountain.

I've recently started accounts on Instagram and Pinterest and am absolutely addicted! Follow me on Instagram @stylingmylife and on Pinterest at http://pinterest.com/stylingmylife. I might even start a facebook page soon! Crazy...

For the outfit in these photos, I'm wearing my day's work outfit, but I took off the tank that I had on underneath for the photos. The shirt is very see-through (the flash doesn't help that), but I love this look when I can get away with it. I hope you like it!

The Usual

I hope everyone is having a great week! I'm so happy that this is a short week -- I can't wait for the weekend! Ollie and I are going to Whistler for the 3 days and I'm so excited to get out of Vancouver and have some time to relax. I'm also so happy that Ollie will finally have some time for fun and time away from work -- the poor guy has been working non-stop! I'm not a skier or snowboarder, so I will be relaxing, doing yoga, maybe sneaking in a spa day, but above all else, I just want to relax and read a good book. I am also planning to practice taking photos with Ollie's camera (I am possibly the worst picture taker in the world). If they're any good, I'll post some -- but don't expect anything much!

This week has been going pretty quickly. We went to see 21 Jump Street on Monday night -- super funny! Then, last night we went and took a couple of photos and then ordered Thai and watched Heros on Netflix (I never did see the first 4 seasons). We took these photos undercover and didn't have the right lens for this, so please excuse the fuzziness in some of them. Right as we were leaving to get our food, the rain stopped and the sky cleared up. The first photo and last 2 were taken at this time and I love how they turned out. Especially because the road was still wet so it has that amazing reflection.

I've called this outfit "The Usual" because this is definitely my usual outfit. I think that everyone who knows me has seen me in a variation of this outfit about a million times (and by variation, I mean different shoes).  It's just the perfect outfit to throw on and be casual but put-together at the same time. My favorite sort of outfit!

Peach and Mint

Peach and mint sounds so wrong together as flavours, but I sure do love them together as clothes! I never wear bright colours -- I tend to stick to a very black colour scheme, but I'm really loving them this season. Especially since the sun made a very welcome appearance today. I think it was actually warm!

Since it was such a beautiful day, Ollie and I decided to go down to the water at Olympic/Millennium Village (not sure what it's actually called) in False Creek. It is really gorgeous down there and quite busy with a TON of people taking pictures. It was great! I didn't feel silly at all this time! If you are in Vancouver taking pictures for your blog, I recommend it.

The jeans that I'm wearing are the same ones from the Tarryl M photos. You couldn't really see a whole outfit in those ones, so I thought it would be ok if I wore them again in such quick time frame :) You might actually see a lot of these jeans --- I'm in love with them!

I hope you have had a wonderful weekend!
