I have been on Instagram for a while, but have just recently become completely addicted to it! I think it is because I am following quite a few entertaining people now and there is always something new to see. I have started to update my Instagram a lot more often and plan to even more. It's just so much fun to document your week by snapshots of your life :)
I would love if you followed me on Instagram and let me know of your user names as well. I love finding new photos to look at!
Below are pictures of my week on Instagram. I hope you like it! You can find me @stylingmylife
Yesterday was a super lazy Sunday, catching up on old TV series' and working on some projects. It was a nice restful day because today it's back to work! I hope those of you that have today off really enjoy it! Long weekends are such a treat.
So, this outfit is pretty much what I was lazing around the house in all day. It's my basic for the summer -- cutoffs and a tee. Rather than changing the whole outfit, I just put on some heels to leave the house and it's automatically a great summer outfit! I really love this type of look -- super casual with heels. You can be really comfortable and still look great! Heels make such a difference :)
Well, I'm off to work. I hope you have a wonderful Monday -- whether it's at work or school or home!
I hope you've had an amazing weekend! I suppose it's not quite over yet -- especially for those of you who are having a long weekend. Lucky!!! Unfortunately, in Canada, it's not a long weekend but we had ours last week so I can't complain!
This weekend has been pretty amazing. It was so gorgeous yesterday that I actually got a burn! I know that's terrible and I should be much more careful, but it's just nice to know that it's hot enough to get one :) After the beach, Ollie and I went home to get fixed up and then went out for a nice dinner and a cocktail at Hapa in kits. So delicious and I love that we have such great places so close to our house.
It was such a warm evening, that I decided to wear shorts and a blazer -- my favorite combo. I love being able to dress up shorts so that they are evening appropriate and I think that these ones from Zara are perfect for that. They are made out of an embroidered material that gives them a bit of a classier look. The blazer is from H&M and is a really light pink. I don't wear a ton of pink because of my blonde hair, but I like the boxier silhouette of this one so that it doesn't look too girly. The necklace is from H&M as well and I love the neon touch to the outfit (along with the neon nails, of course!). No arm candy today -- simply because I forgot to put it on, but I think this outfit looks good without it :)
I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend and thank you so much for stopping by! I really appreciate all your wonderful comments and support :)
I hope you've had a good Thursday! The week is almost over and it has been such a stress free one for me -- it's such a nice change :)
I did some morning yoga again today and this time I think I ended up in a seniors class by accident. Not actually because there were a couple of people my age, but I've never been to a yoga class that was less physically demanding than this one. I think it was actually aggravating me because I just wanted to use my muscles, but in the end I just let it be and left feeling very relaxed and stress-free. I guess that's the ultimate goal isn't it?
The rest of the day was spent working on some projects and cooking dinner. We've been trying to eat really healthy and cook up a ton of veggies every night. It gets a little tough to be creative with it because I don't eat meat -- which sort of means that Ollie doesn't eat meat (at least at dinner) and I'm definitely not the best cook. If anyone has any good suggestions, I would love to hear it :)
The dress that I wore today was one of those great finds at H&M. It was $9.95 and I'm so happy that I got it! I think it will get a lot of wear this summer because it's one of those super easy pieces to throw on. It was a bit windy and chilly in kits, so I wore a jacket and motorcycle boots. One of my favorite ways to turn a floral dress into something less girly.
I hope you have an amazing Friday and that the weekend comes quickly for you! Especially in the US because it's a long weekend!!!
I love how fast this week is going! Short weeks are always a bonus and this week is extra short for me :) I spent the day running around doing errands, yoga and cooking and I can't believe how much time those things can take up! When I'm in an office, it feels like an eternity and that the day will never end, but today I felt like I needed more time! Funny how that works...
This is the outfit that I wore for running around town (but with flat shoes instead). The sweater is a combination of my two favorite things -- stripes and open knit! Oh, and loose, so I guess that's my 3 favorite things :) The white jeans are also my favorite right now and I love how they really brighten up an outfit and make it appropriate for spring.
I hope you're having a great week! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog -- I hope you like it!
Do you remember my look of Flowers and Lace? When we were taking the pictures, Ollie decided to shoot some video as well and he put this video together for it! I really love the way it turned out and that it gives a different perspective on the outfit.
I hope you like it!

The song on this video is "She just likes to fight" by Four Tet .
I'm so happy that it's a long weekend and it's absolutely gorgeous! Today, Ollie, Tarryl (my beautiful and talented friend from Tarryl M Jewellery) and I went to a bee farm to pick up some local honey. I've been having allergies for my first time this year and local honey is supposed to help with this. I like the idea of this as opposed to taking medicine everyday for it and I love honey, so it's win win! They even had pollen that is especially for curing your allergies, so we picked up some of that as well. Hopefully it works :)
Tomorrow is the solar eclipse, so we're going to try to get some photos of it. It's supposed to rain in Vancouver, so hopefully the weather for somewhere close will be clear. It would be such a shame to miss it! I hope you are lucky enough to see it wherever you are :)
For our trip to the bee farm, I wore a green maxi dress that I got from River Island. It's the comfiest thing in the world and I love that it's long enough in the torso for me. I always have a problem with elastic waists because they always hit too high on my body and don't look quite right -- somewhere between an empire and regular waist. Not hot. But, I ordered this one online because it looked like it was a little longer than usual, and it was! I love it!
I hope you're all having a great week so far! Mine's going pretty quick, so that's a good sign. Tonight, Ollie and I cooked up a nice big curry meal and then went down to the beach to walk it off and take a couple of photos. The sunset was so incredible, but we couldn't really get it into any of the pictures. We will for sure next time! The sunset is always gorgeous at Kits beach :)
The weather had cooled down a bit by the time that we finished eating, so I decided to throw on a warm sweater with white jeans. I feel like this sweater is perfect for a cool spring night because it's so bright and fun! And the great thing is that it hides my tummy that is so full of curry :) I thought the sweater was enough, so I didn't wear any jewellery at all today -- very unusual for me!
I hope you have a great evening and thank you so much for all your lovely comments! They really make my day!
Well, it's already Monday again, which means back to the office. I haven't shown a post of my office looks in a while, so I thought I would show you what I wore to work today.
I love wearing dresses to work once the weather gets warm enough for it. They are the absolute easiest thing to throw on and you automatically look put-together. I love it! Throw on some peep-toe pumps and you're ready to go :)
I use this bag pretty much everyday at work because it's big enough to put my heels and laptop inside, with plenty of room to spare! It also looks great with dresses or trousers, so it's the perfect work bag.
Today is the first actually warm day this year and it is so gorgeous outside! It's so nice to walk outside without feeling a chill on your skin. Pure bliss!
I bought these shorts at the Urban Outfitters that just opened in Kitsilano and am loving them! I was looking for a pair of floral shorts, but never liked any of the ones that I tried on before this. I love the high waist of these ones -- it gives that much more floral to show off!
It will be Mother's Day in Europe by the time that my mom sees this, so Happy Mother's Day Mom! And Happy Mother's Day to Ollie's mom in Australia as well! I hope you're both having a wonderful day and Ollie and I are sorry that we can't be there with you, but I'm sure it's much nicer where you are anyways :)
What a gorgeous evening we've had! It's such a relief because today was a very long day at work. I spent it doing reports from an excel spreadsheet -- very boring... The second that I got out of there, I wanted to put on a pretty dress and enjoy the sunshine with my wonderful boyfriend!
This dress is from Aritzia and I think it is just the cutest thing ever! I love the way that it is a bit longer in the front and back than it is on the sides. Sort of the opposite to the popular high-low (which I'm obsessed with), but it is just as flattering to the legs. I think anything that doesn't cut straight across the thigh is the most forgiving with short dresses :)
I just added Google Friend Connect -- I hadn't realized that the follow button was taken away and this replaces it! Oh blogger, what will you do to us next?
I hope you have a wonderful Friday and that the weekend comes quickly for us all!
I hope you've had a wonderful Monday! Mine has been a little stressful, but I feel like it is ending on a good note. I got a new phone today and new toys are always fun to play with! The phone I decided to get is an Android and I'm loving it :)
These photos are from Saturday evening, after Lily from Miss Leelay came to meet us and we decided to go for a walk down by the water to see the sunset and get some photos. I had been in heels all day and had eaten a gigantic burger, so I wanted to be super comfy for our walk. My outfit is quite the contrast to Lily's gorgeous one, but at the time that really didn't matter to me. Now that I look back, I sort of wish I looked as nice as her! Oh well :)
I hope everyone had a good Cinco de Mayo! It was such a perfect day here. The only problem was that all the patios were taken and we really wanted to sit outside and have a glass of wine! But, we went for a walk and then had some wine and burgers inside.
I really wanted something bright and cheerful, so I wore my peach blazer that you last saw here. I love the fit of this blazer so much because it's a bit oversized, but not too frumpy. The bright color helps with this too. The shorts I bought when I was walking home from yoga and couldn't resist going into XO Bella. If you live in Vancouver, you should really check it out. They have the cutest stuff at really great prices.
Later in the day, our good friend Lily from Miss Leelay came to visit us and we took some pics with her. I'll show you those photos later :)
I hope you have a fantastic Sunday! Ollie and I are about to build some furniture, so wish us luck!
I hope you're having a fantastic start to May! Can you believe how quickly April went by? It will be summer in no time! We're just having a relaxing night on the couch. Ate some pizza for dinner and watched some Lost (can you believe that Ollie has never seen it?!). It's like new again for me too!
I love this neon sweater and really wanted to wear it with a pair of cutoffs, but it's just not warm enough this week for it. I might have to wear it again once the weather gets warmer! I think it will be perfect for keeping warm on chilly summer nights, thrown over a dress or shorts and a singlet. I can imagine it now... Is it summer yet??
I hope everyone is having a great start to their week! This post is a little different to my usual fashion looks, but I really want to incorporate some beauty as well. I used to be a makeup artist so I have a huge love for makeup and what it can do to enhance a woman's beauty. When used properly, makeup can really work wonders!
In this video, I am giving a tutorial for a polished day look. This is what I wear pretty much everyday, but most people might cut some corners to speed up the process (I can do a shorter video on a "5 minute face" if you are interested). This particular look is perfect for anyone that deals with the public for work, or for a nice lunch/daytime party.
I hope you enjoy it and please let me know your thoughts. I would also be happy to take suggestions for other looks that you would like to see :)
