SVMF Day 3

Day 3 of Squamish Valley Music Festival was by far the best of the weekend (hell ya Eminem!!). It was also the busiest and the hottest, so it made for an interesting day style-wise.
There didn't seem to be a breath of wind on this day, so the 34°C seemed even hotter, if that's possible, and this is why we spent the first hour hiding in a tiny patch of shade with like 20 other people, listening to Shad. Once we acclimatized, we went on the hunt for my new fav -- strawberry lemonade (I seriously need to find a place in Vancouver that does this) --  and checked out the local vendors and artists that were set up. The festival was so huge that you could spend hours just walking around and checking everything out. Since this was our last day and we were saving our energy for Arctic Monkeys and Eminem (who was unbelievable), we pulled out the blanket and had an awesome time chilling and listening to Phantogram (who I didn't know, but were amazing) and people watching the 60,000 festival-goers for all the fun festival style. To be fair, the majority of people were wearing some form of swimsuit as their outfit and I can't say I blame them. Luckily, I had saved my light and airy mini dress for this day and I couldn't be happier that I did. Especially since you wouldn't catch me dead in a bikini at a festival. Once the sun goes down it's a different story and I was so glad that I brought this light denim jacket with me to throw on. One thing that I did learn was that boots are a much better idea at a festival than sandals. I thought I would prefer the open design because of the heat, but the festival was so dusty and had so much gravel that got into the sandals the entire time, making it quite uncomfortable (and really dirty). Next time, I will definitely bring boots instead and I recommend that you do too!

A huge Thank You to Denim & Supply Ralph Lauren and Hudson's Bay for bringing me to the festival and allowing me to wear their beautiful boho festival babe clothing. I couldn't have been more comfortable (and cute!) if I had tried. I have another fun event coming up with them soon, so make sure to stay tuned! I'll have all the details soon :)

Thanks so much for visiting!

  4. Festival perfection, dear Alison!! This is probably my fave of all three of your Whistler looks; love the pattern and breezy feel of this cute dress...and that studded, hip-slug belt!! The gladiator sandals are a great finish, but booties would have definitely worked, too (when I went to the Merritt Mountain Music Festival several years ago, I was SO glad that I opted for cowboy boots instead of sandals!!)
