#IAmDaysenWinter

Hello Beauties! I'm so excited to share a project that I'm working on with online clothing retailer Daysen Winter and 4 other Vancouver Fashion Bloggers (Randa, Kiara, Meagan & Carlle).
When she first came to me with the idea, I was instantly on board because it's a message that resonates with pretty much every person in the world. We all have flaws and insecurities that we tend to dwell on, but that is a part of what makes us human -- and to be honest, it's what makes us relatable and likeable to others. Instead, we should always focus on our positives and empower each other to be the best versions of ourselves. For me, I know that I have always been extremely shy -- to a point where it was almost debilitating as a child -- but I now embrace it and can easily laugh about my shyness and see the ridiculousness of it. It doesn't mean that I'm cured of it, but I do know that it is a part of what makes me who I am. Also, what I noticed from working on this project is that our flaws can have an influence on our positive attributes as well. Because of my shyness, I have always been a very keen observer of others and what people would call a good listener. On top of that, being a good listener has made me a kind person and a compassionate one because I truly care about what other people are saying (or sometimes what is hidden beneath the words). I am an eternal optimist and believe in the good of others to a fault. And because of all of this -- I am always positive and excited for what the future has to bring.

The idea behind Daysen Winter was the alter ego of its owner, Teri Wachtel. She had been choosing all of the items for the site based on the image and style of this ideal woman. In her mind, Daysen Winter was bold, daring, fashion forward and funny -- everything that we all strive to be in our own lives. After some time, she realized that the ideal woman is not perfect and without flaw -- in fact, it is our flaws that make us perfect. Daysen Winter is not the perfect ideal woman -- she is all of us; perfect in our own ways.

In order to celebrate our individuality and our positive qualities along with our "imperfections," Daysen Winter has launched the #iamdaysenwinter campaign. We encourage you to embrace your imperfections and celebrate what it is that makes you who you are. Simply post a photo to instagram that shows any personal quality that you are proud of and hashtag it with #iamdaysenwinter. As a thank you for sharing -- Daysen Winter will choose the most honest and/or creative participant to win a $75 gift card to their online store. Trust me -- they have some adorable items as you will soon see! Find all of the details of the campaign on Daysen Winter's blog here. I can't wait to see what you come up with!
