Everyone in Vancouver is scratching their heads at the amazing weather we've been having and trust me -- we realize how lucky we are right now. We've actually got a little bout of rain at the moment and I'm pretty sure every single person in the city is giving it a pass because we've had a pretty great run so far. We can't get too greedy after-all! Sunday is the official start to summer, as well as Father's Day and International Yoga Day, so basically it is the best day ever! So many good things at once. Not sure what we'll be doing yet, but I'm determined that it will be something outside and taking in as much of the longest day of the year as possible. Hopefully we'll have some sunshine to top it off!
The photos above are from some of my favorite memories of the summer so far. There has been a lot of time outside -- at the beach, bike rides around the seawall and taking in the sunsets (which are always my favorite). I don't know what it is about this summer but I feel that I am finally learning to live in the moment and appreciate every second of it so much more than I ever have before. I have always been a person that feels a bit unsettled and not quite happy with my life when it is standing still. I've always needed a new adventure, a new destination, or some sort of life change to keep my spirits up. It's not that I'm an unhappy person by any means, but I guess I just felt like there must be something more for me. I'm certain this sounds terrible, but I'm also certain this is not uncommon with many people (I'm pretty sure it's why many of us start blogs in the first place!). I haven't had any recent life changing moment or reality check, but I think that I might just be finding peace with myself and where I am in life. And it feels pretty darn good.
