A Day of Wine Tasting

Styling My Life, Alison Hutchinson
The Okanagan has a lot going for it, but I think my very favorite part is visiting the wine region.
This time we went to the Naramata Valley, which was only a quick drive away from our resort (the Summerland Waterfront Resort and Spa) and it was even more beautiful than we could have imagined. After returning from Tuscany, I was craving another holiday to experience that sort of atmosphere and it really is amazing that we have this so close to Vancouver. It feels like a whole other world, like being transported right back to Italy. I think my favorite part about this region is that you get the view of the beautiful green vines against the backdrop of the Okanagan Lake. This is something unique that I have not personally seen anyplace else and it gives it a beauty all of its own. We sometimes forget that it's so close and accessible to us, but hopefully this will be a reminder to visit more often.

And perhaps on par with the views is the wine tasting! There are so many wineries along the drive that you could spend the whole day visiting them and not even make it down the one road. A few of them have patios where you can have a meal as well, so Ollie and I took advantage to have a glass of rose while eating flatbread pizza and enjoying the view. It truly was the perfect day.
