Like I said in this post, the Summerland Waterfront Resort and Spa does such a great job at incorporating the natural beauty that surrounds it. The first thing Ollie and I like to do whenever we get to a new place is explore the local area. We followed a trail that went along the water for about a kilometer and saw some of the beautiful lakefront along the way. It was a super windy day, but the air is so warm and comfortable in the Okanagan that it didn't bother us one bit (other than taking photos with my hair blowing everywhere!). I don't think it's all that common to have the weather that we did, but the summer storm was rolling in that night, so this was the beginning of it. Luckily the rain held out for most of the day so we were able to enjoy the outdoors. It did start sprinkling at one point so we took the opportunity to laze around in our room before heading into the wine country for some lunch. We didn't mind it one bit because it was nice to be able to actually enjoy the amazing accomodation. We don't usually get to take advantage of the room too much whenever we are on holiday, but this was like having our own little apartment right on the lake. How could we resist pretending that we lived there?
One great thing about the overcast sky was that I could wear my new pants that were made for resort living. I saw them in Zara before we left on this holiday and I knew they were meant to be. They were blowing around like crazy in the wind and I love that feeling of freedom that loose clothes give. If you're ever in need of relaxed clothes, it's definitely on holiday! (or everyday in my case). I thought this relaxed look went perfectly with my new Jack French London Satchel that I haven't stopped wearing since. The leather is so incredibly soft and it fits all the essentials perfectly. I really can't say enough amazing things about it. It's currently out of stock, but I'll try to keep my eye on it and let you know when they get it back in.
I hope you're having an amazing day and are enjoying this beautiful summer! xoxo
