Vertigo

Styling My Life, Alison Hutchinson
I wouldn't say that I'm usually one to be afraid of heights, but even I couldn't escape the vertigo from 400 feet up on this trestle bridge.
It's hard to tell from these photos but this thing is HIGH. The fact that there are gaps between the floor planks and no railings kinda helps with the wobbly feeling too. But once you're up there for a couple of minutes, all that dizziness disappears and you can really enjoy the incredible view. I dragged Ollie up this short but steep hike after he had just gone on a 100 km bike ride (and it was one of the hottest days we've had), so I don't think he was too pleased with me but at the end of the day, who can be mad at an experience like this? To be perfectly honest, I didn't expect it to be quite so steep, so my choice of Birkenstocks should probably be avoided, but we made an adventure out of it and had a blast doing it. I'm pretty sure that I was giggling the entire trip down as I was sliding most of the way on my butt. Good thing I was wearing shorts under my dress!
