I'm already feeling like this year of summer is the best idea we've come up with to date. It's still only spring in Australia, but the sunshine is out, the sand is warm on our toes and I'm happily wearing shorts and a tank top at the beach so I'm calling this one a success.Ollie and I usually always enjoy taking photos together, but there's something about taking them on a gorgeous day at the beach that makes them so much more fun. We could have spent the entire day there playing around but Mexican food was calling so of course we had to go. It was my first time trying Mexican in Australia and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. The guac was definitely better tasting because avocados here are magic and the rest of it was pretty good. I could have used a bean or two in there, but we can't get greedy here. Also, they put mayo in their tacos which is a little weird, so of course I took that out and the rest was great.
But back to the beach! This beach that we shot the photos at is Ollie's local: Wanda. It is basically my dream location for my future home and I can't believe how lucky Ollie is to have grown up here. The beach goes on for miles and from what I can see, it never really stops. The sand is beautiful and fine, and your toes sink right into it like heaven. Seriously -- my heaven better be filled with sand like this that I can walk around barefoot in for eternity. You got that, God?
So like I've mentioned before, Ollie and I are here for a month before we head to Thailand. We've got a pretty amazing setup in Ollie's parents' house for the time being and I think it might be more than a little tough to give it up. We've just set up a second desk and now have more space than we've ever had before. Add to that his dad's incredible cooking and mom's generosity -- I don''t know if we're ever going to want to leave... It's a bit like being a kid again and I don't mind it one bit.
