This day was actually my birthday and we had taken a trip up to Pai from Chiang Mai for 2 nights (thanks to my wonderful parents!). I had heard so many wonderful things about this town and knew it would be exactly what I needed after all the city time we'd been having.
Pai turned out to be one of my favorite towns I've visited -- with the perfect mix of hippie vibes, beautiful scenery, relaxed atmosphere and delicious cheap food. The only thing it was missing was a beach! But we did have a wonderful pool at the resort so that made up for it. I actually found the vegan options to be even better than in Chiang Mai and quite a bit cheaper than there as well. It honestly is my dream town. If we could move this place to the ocean, I would never leave.
On the morning of my birthday, we decided to do a little hike up to the White Buddha, which was about a 20 minute walk from our resort (the Pai Vieng Fah Resort). It was a hot one and there were plenty of stairs but it was absolutely worth it. The view from up there is stunning and from what I hear, the sunsets are quite magical as well. Even in the high season, there were no more than 5 or 6 other people up there so it felt quite serene and quiet. We took a few photos and then sat on the steps in the shade to enjoy the view.
You can watch what we got up to for the rest of the day on this video! I was daily vloggin at this time so I've captured a lot of it there. Also, if you're curious on how to get to Pai from Chiang Mai, you can watch this one!
