Living for the past 10 years on the west coast of Canada, I could easily wander down to the beach on any given night to catch the show (so long as the sky was clear enough) and it's something I never took for granted. I've always been in awe of this magic of mother nature, so you can just imagine my excitement at this sunset in Canggu. Berawa Beach is just a quick walk down the road from our guesthouse and we have been treated to this view every night since arriving. I think this might be the very best thing about Canggu. It really is breathtaking. There something about a sunset in the tropics that creates this beautiful glow that takes over the entire sky. I truly can;t get enough.
The beach gets quite busy just before sunset, with tons of scooters lining up at the entrance for people to catch the view. I usually hate the crowds, but there's something quite fun and lively about this particular gathering, while still remaining super chilled -- as Canggu is known for. I would imagine that in other parts of Bali, this would lend more of a party atmosphere, but here it's surfers in the water, people walking or sitting along the shore, and others having a chilled beer at one of the beach side bars. There's music playing, but no-one is loud and obnoxious. Definitely my type of scene.
