Summer Essentials -- The Wrap Dress

If there's one style staple for the summer of 2017, it's easily the wrap dress. Add to that the color yellow and you're onto a winner.

The heat of Bali had me wanting to wear the least amount of clothes as possible but at the same time, there is something so intriguing and enviable about the style of the expats there. It's the perfect mix of laid-back, trendy and beachy vibes with just just the right amount of bohemian added on top. I'm mainly referring to the Canggu area as it attracts the younger, hipper crowds compared to Kuta and Sanur, but if you've been there, you probably know what I'm talking about. It can be quite difficult to dress nice in such intense heat and humidity, but this place has given me so much inspiration. Not only the style of the expats there, but also the attitudes, which are some of the most relaxed and content I've ever seen. It really is difficult to feel stressed in a place like this. I really wanted to bring this feeling to KAYVALYA and I hope the girls that wear the pieces get a sense of this -- even if it's just a teeny one.

I've been so obsessed with the wrap dress over the past couple of summers, I just knew I had to design the perfect one for KAYVALYA. I wanted to make one that could be worn day or night, had just enough ruffles without going overboard and had that fun flirty feel that only a mini can deliver.

I'm such a dress girl as it is, but there's something about a wrap dress that makes me feel like a million bucks every time. The trickiest thing about the fit of a wrap dress is finding one that crosses over the bust a the right point for your body. I've found with my long torso that this can be quite difficult so the non-negotiable on the Raya was the adjustable straps. It's always easy to fit the wrap part as you can make it as tight or as loose as you like, but the straps are the key for the perfect look.

Adjustable straps aside, my favorite part about the Raya dress is the frill along the neckline and at the bottom of the skirt. With the super soft rayon fabric and the cut of the frill, there is the perfect amount of movement and it floats away from the body in a way that is so incredibly flattering for all body types. I'm so proud of this dress and trust me when I tell you that we went through MANY samples before we got it just right. I wanted this one to be perfect because I knew it was one that I would wear over and over.
