Fall Transitioning

fashion blogger, alison hutchinson is transitioning into fall fashion with Sarah Mulder Jewelry
Well, I think it's official, I'm starting to transition my wardrobe into fall.
I shot these photos on an unusually cold day in Victoria, but since then it has begun to cool down even more. It's funny how the second it feels a little cooler, my minds starts to veer towards cozy knits, earth tone colors and closed-toe shoes or boots. Over the weekend, I was in full summer mode, but there must be something about that labor day weekend that really alters fashion mentality. I'm not totally ready to give up the summer dresses just yet, but I think I'll be wearing them in a way that transitions them to fall. These are usually some of my favorite blog posts anyways because I get to play around with fashion a little more. Booties and dresses are easily one of my favorite fashion combos so expect to see some of those looks coming up very soon!

Luckily, I won't be having to dress for fall weather for too long as Ollie and I have been planning our next year of travel and it looks like we've got plenty more summer weather in our near future. Our plans aren't concrete just yet, but I'm really getting excited now that we're in the planning process. To be totally honest -- I shouldn't really call it a "planning process" as we are the type that always decides things last minute and never has an actual plan, but we like to have a general idea of what's to come. I won't go into to it too much right now but I'm so excited to share it all very soon!

One thing that I find always transitions so easily is jewelry. I received these pieces from Sarah Mulder Jewelry about a week ago and they have not left my body since. They were so perfect for summer dresses and barely there clothing -- but they also work so perfectly with chunky knits and heavier items. I feel like I've always got a bit of a bohemian twist in my style and jewelry is a super easy way to accomplish this. It's also a great way to bring those boho vibes into fall when clothing can become a little more structured. Just imagine these pieces with a menswear inspired blazer, straight-leg jeans and nude pumps. Yup, I'm so recreating this look...

I've always personally been drawn to rose quartz so I went straight for this set, which I can't express how obsessed I am with. I chose a couple of dainty pieces to layer along with the rose quartz and it has turned into layered perfection. I wish you could see the necklace a little better, but you can find it online here to get a better look at it. And don't worry -- there will be plenty more photos in the near future with ideas on how to style it. I'm actually going out to shoot some today!
