Forster | Roadtripping Australia

We almost didn't make a stop in Forster during our road trip because we had visited there last year on a little weekend away. But as we were looking at the map, we realized that this town held a special place in our hearts and we needed to take the opportunity to visit it once again. Also, the last time we were there, it wasn't quite warm enough to swim in the water and of course we had to try out that beach, which takes my breath away every time I see it.

We stayed in the same little motel again, which is actually not very nice at all but is in a great location, and spent two nights there. This time, we discovered more of the town by walking around to the river and found that this is actually where all of the action is. It's such a great place for kids and so perfect for water sports. We also did the same walk along the coast from Main Beach to One Mile Beach and it was just as beautiful as the first time. I don't think I could ever get sick of those views. Once you come around to One Mile Beach, you would swear you've never seen anything so beautiful in your life.

One downside of Forster for me is the lack of eating out options. There really aren't too many restaurants to begin with and if you're vegan, you can just forget about it. I did manage to have a pizza at the Reef Bar and Grill and a salad at The Aztec, which was actually super tasty and substantial. Other than that, we made our own meals and had one super shitty salad at a little cafe. If it wasn't for the restaurant situation, I would rate this town so much higher.

But even with the lack of dining options, the town really is so stunning. I could see it as the perfect place to take your family for a camping holiday because it seems to be perfectly set up for that. The great thing is that it's so close to Sydney, so I'm sure we'll be back one day soon.
