I have to be honest -- I really don't put much effort into what I wear at work everyday. I find it very hard to be inspired in a conservative office environment, so I usually end up reaching for the easy button-up, sweater and black slacks before spending exactly 2 minutes on my makeup and running out the door.
The other day, I reached for my long-forgotten skirt rather than the slacks and this simple change made all the difference. I received so many compliments and felt so much more pulled together, while literally the only difference was a skirt rather than pants. Isn't that such a funny thing? And so, this look is to show that we can look office appropriate and chic with only 15 minuted in the morning. Granted, I am may be the quickest shower taker in the world, but after getting out of the shower, I threw my 2 day old hair into a quick bun, put on some tinted moisturizer, bronzer (I know it's hard to tell, but I'm even paler without it), eyebrow pencil and mascara before running out the door. Of course I got changed sometime in there as well, but you get the idea. What's even stranger is that I haven't actually worn the skirt even once since then, but it did get super cold out and then I got sick, so I think this justifies it...
What about you? Do you have any tips on how to stay motivated with your office attire? I would love to hear them!
I was wearing:
H&M Sweater
Zara Skirt
Mimosa Heels (similar)
Anthropology Earrings

It's the shoes!! Adding a little leopard print to your black and navy sweater-and-skirt combination takes the look from pretty...all the way to something special!! Plus, I think a chunky turtleneck - rather than a shirt or blouse - is a little unexpected for the office, but nobody can say it isn't appropriate!! I love the minimalism, too!! (I wear scrubs at my job, so talk about no effort!!)
