An Evening with La Biosthetique

A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to spend an evening being primped and pampered by the amazing ladies and gents of Black 2 Blond in Kits.
I have to be honest, I haven't had my hair done (other than a super cheap trim every once in a while) in over 2 years because I really hate when people touch my hair. I had bleached my hair for many years and it really showed with all of the breakage and dryness, so I decided to grow it out and completely leave it alone. You've probably noticed that I don't style my hair all that often, preferring a more low-maintenance approach, but I really am envious of those women that have thick gorgeous flowing locks no matter when you catch them. I always wondered whether they wake up 2 hours earlier than I do to style their hair, or are they really just that lucky to be born with it? Well, I still don't know their secret, but it was really nice to speak to some experts about proper hair care and get some suggestions on easy styling and how to keep it healthy.

I had the privilege of being paired up with Marlee, who took the time to test my scalp and hair's health and dryness to best determine how to move forward and what products to use. I won't bore you with all the details, but if you are ever wondering if you have healthy scalp and hair, I really recommend it! Also, I'm not sure if you can tell in these photos, but I am wearing patches under my eyes that are probably the most amazing miracle workers in the world. They are from La Biosthetique (the product line that they use throughout the salon) and are called Anti Age Patch Gel Liftant. If you are worried about under eye puffiness and fine lines like I am, you must try them out. I'm already hooked!

La Biosthetique and Black 2 Blonde will be providing all of the hair and makeup at next week's Vancouver Eco Fashion Week and I can't wait to see what they come up with. I'll try to get some backstage shots to show you!

Thanks so much for visiting!

  1. Oh boy, Alison...I can't even IMAGINE not having my hair "done" for two whole years!! I'm one of those girls who has to switch up her hair look on a very regular basis...and since it's really short and really blonde right now, I have to visit my stylist every 6 to 7 weeks!! But - just like you! - I don't enjoy spending hours every day doing it myself; I haven't touched so much as a blowdryer in months and months!!

  2. Very cool! Looks like such a fun day! I definitely want to try it and see how my hair is! lol

Thank you so much for all of your lovely comments and support!
