I had heard about the Moss St Paint-In for a couple of years but never had the chance to check it out.
This year, it just so happened to fall on the same weekend that we were in town with Ollie's mom (who is an amazing artist herself) so of course we had to make a day of it. I seriously had no idea how huge this thing was. I think it took us about 5 hours to walk the entire thing and so if you plan on going next year, wear your walking shoes! It really was great though -- seeing all the local artists showing off their unique pieces of work and having the city celebrate their creativity is such an incredible thing. I think I heard someone say that there were 30,000 people there, so not a bad turn-out at all. There's also something about the vibe of the city that made the entire event so calm and relaxing. Just another reason that I love the island so much.

Thanks so much for visiting!

  2. Thanks Alison - I had a wonderful time visiting your home town and family, especially the Paint In which culminated in a visit to Victoria Gallery - another highlight was the Emily Carr retrospective - such an amazing time to be on the island.

Thank you so much for all of your lovely comments and support!
