Casual Summer Days

Sometimes you win with the lighting and sometimes you don't. This shoot would definitely be the latter, but I still love my casual look from this day so I wanted to post the photos.

I tried at self-portraits once again and wasn't having much luck. I was about ready to give up when Ollie saved the day and rode past on his bike to see if I wanted a hand. It's like he was reading my mind and the timing couldn't have been more perfect! In the end, I chose half from my shots and half from his. I wonder if you can tell the difference? He said he tried to shoot them in my style but I can still see a difference for sure. He's just got that eye -- you know?

Lately, I've been loving everything tied at the waist. I've never liked my bellybutton so I don't usually like showing it off, but I feel like this skirt comes up high enough to look flattering. A good high-waist hides a multitude of sins, don't you think? Actually, I'm quite obsessed with this skirt. I found it in the sales in Australia and it's a brand I hadn't heard of before. It's by Insight and is stocked at General Pants, which I found myself looking into every time I passed one. It's pretty damn short and I could have maybe gone up a size, but this was the last one left and I loved it too much to leave it behind. I love the little embroidered flowers on the sides and find myself wearing it again and again.

Since being back home, I haven't yet braved the boxes with all of my clothes, but the one thing I needed to find straight away was my converse. I did come across a few other things I missed as well, but these guys were a priority. Now that I have them back, I don't think they'll be leaving my feet any time soon.
