First Week in Phuket

Hello! It's been a while but I'm happy to be back! I unintentionally took a month off of the blog but spent an amazing month in Australia visiting Ollie's family and having lots of nephew time with little Joshua. And now we're in Phuket, so naturally I have been taking photos of everything I see. These are mostly iPhone photos that I've been snapping along the way so hopefully you don't mind the quality. I just wanted to give you a sense of what we've been up to!

As you can see, I'm pretty thrilled to be back in the land of beach sunsets and am happy to say that we've caught the magic show every day except for one so far. We're also in the land of Pad Thai and mango smoothies, which I think might be just as good as the sunsets!

I'm not gonna lie -- Phuket is a bit of a mess. But it's a mess that I'm pretty fond of so far. It's busy as hell, it's loud and touristy, but it's beautiful, the people are friendly and I can visit the ocean every single day. Also, we have a gym and 2 rooftop pools in our complex so I can't complain about that! Plus, along with the tourists comes conveniences I don't think we would otherwise get in Asia. There's everything we could possibly ever need and it's all within walking distance from our apartment. The downside is that you pay for it with much higher prices than most other places in Asia. But it's all a give and take, right?

So we're here for at least one month, possibly two. We're going to see how we like it in the upcoming weeks and then we've got a little getaway planned to visit some friends on one of the other islands, which I can't wait for!

I hope you like my snapshots of Phuket! If you have any advice of things to do while here -- I would love to hear it!
